Pokémon gifts for adult collectors: what to give

In this article

• A Pokémon gift for adults depends on what the person does: open, store or play. Here is how to find something that fits.

A Pokémon gift for adults doesn't have to feel childish. Many people started as kids, picked the hobby back up and now collect with a very different eye. To surprise someone like that, it helps to know first what they do with their cards. This guide walks through the options, even if you have no idea how the hobby works.

First check: does the person collect or play?

A collector wants to open, store and display cards. A player wants a deck that is ready for the table. If you're unsure, a sealed booster pack or a protection gift is a safe choice: it suits both. Pay attention to the set: someone with a favourite will be happy if you match it. Check whether they already have a binder or deck box, as that gives you a hint.

A Pokémon card gift to open

Boosters are the simplest gift. Ten cards in a sealed pack, and nobody knows what's inside. For many adults, that moment of opening is exactly why they still collect. If you want something bigger, a kit with several boosters feels much more like a gift than a single pack.

A gift to store and display

Anyone who already has cards almost always needs protection. A sturdy deck box keeps a deck together and looks tidy on a desk. The Ultra PRO Vivid Alcove Flip Deck Box costs €24.99 and is a gift you can show off. For players, a playmat is a nice extra, like the Caterpie Evolutions Stitched Playmat (€17.99). For a smaller extra, sleeves and toploaders always work.

A ready-made set: our own bundles

Not sure what the person already owns? Our own bundles are made for that moment. The Pull & Protect bundles combine boosters with the protection to keep your best cards safe right away. A bigger choice is the Ascended Heroes Collector Gift Bundle (€68.99). You can find all bundles on the bundles page.

Does your order fit the offer? From €85 and with at least 2 accessories, you get a free booster. Our own kits don't count towards that.
